If you are ever in Sydney and you don’t mind a ferry ride over the harbour, we recommend dropping in to see this memorial.
Take the ferry to the Taronga zoo dock, then follow the path off to your right. It will take you around the headland right into the memorial at Bradleys Head.

You can see here on our miniature the part of the ship that was used for the memorial. Here is some details from wiki about the ship and her service:
HMAS Sydney was a Chatham-class light cruiser of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Laid down in 1911 and launched in 1912, the cruiser was commissioned into the RAN in 1913.
During the early stages of World War I, Sydney was involved in supporting the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force, and escorting the first ANZAC convoy. On 9 November 1914, she defeated the German cruiser SMS Emden at the Battle of Cocos.
There is another part of this story that exists in a more accessible part of Sydney. A gun from the SMS Emden.

It was a bit of a hike from the Blue Mountains for Aaron and Ben but well worth the time.
If you are looking for stock or to check out the game, here are some places we will be in person. Please drop by and say hi!

Here we have the Birkenhead class light cruiser. We are giving this to players as a participation gift at ShireCon & MOAB this year. It will be available at BrisCon and Victorius as a free gift for purchasing Conqueror at our stall (limited numbers). After MOAB (October) this ship will enter the builder and be available to purchase.
This ship is special because it the 110th year since the battle of Jutland. Young Jack Cornwell received the VC for his actions during the conflict aboard HMS Chester.
Broadsiders can now honour Jack and commemorate Jutland in this small way together. When you put Chester on table, don’t forget to point out why she and Jack are important to your opponent and to your games onlookers. We will tell people when we give out the ship to new players at the above events as well.

If you are running a public Broadside event maybe a big Jutland battle, a demo or a tournament, message us and we can see if we can make this ship available to you to help out.
We will be running a Jutland participation game at ShireCon. If you are in Sydney 16th & 17th May drop in say hi. Otherwise we’ll be tacking plenty of photos to put on FB.
