Here is are a few dot points for you about our exciting new era launching soon on Kickstarter.
Things that are the same as Empires of Steel:
- The game is still on 6′ x 4′
- Moving and turning your ships.
- The ships are 1/1500 in scale.
- Some of the ships from Dawn of Steel will appear in EoS. Some as front line ships but mostly as coastal defense battleships ect.
Things that are different:
- All ships are mounted on a medium acrylic base.
- Torpedo boats are three ships to a single medium base. (The torpedo boats from this era are very much smaller than the destroyers in EoS).
- Torpedo boats are all generic squadrons rather than a named, individually mounted ship.
- Ship gun batteries have a rate of fire (Rof) rather than a number of shots that equal the number of the ship’s guns.
- Dawn of Steel has a different ground scale (the distance between your ships will look the same as EoS but it is in fact far less).
- There are no ‘Light guns’ or ‘Directed guns’ in Dawn of Steel (DoS)
- The game uses d10 or 2xd10 (EoS is d6 or 2xd6)
- Dawn of Steel era is 1894 – 1906. (EoS is 1906-1918)
- Ship cards will be visually different to EoS to avoid confusion.
More information will be available as we get closer the the KS launch. At this stage we are aiming for a date in mid to late April to start the funding period.
In the mean time please enjoy some photos from our play-testers!
